Turpin, Marion Ellis Age 86 formerly of Washington, GA passed away Saturday October 12, 2019. He was a graduate of Washington-Wilkes High School 1950 and Milwaukee School of Engineering where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 1962. Marion attended the University of Georgia. Marion was a Freemason. He was a member of our Lady of Mountains Catholic Church in Jasper, Georgia. Marion loved to hunt, fish on Lake Michigan, golf, garden, play with his Irish setters Arul Reagan and Bow Lambeau and watch the Georgia Bulldogs and Green Bay Packers. Marion was preceeded in death by his parents John Claude Turpin and Lona Vinson Turpin, one sister Florence Ingram and one brother Gus Turpin. He is survived by his sweetheart and wife of 63 years Lucille S Turpin, his Son Brian Michael Turpin, his Daughters Cindy S Kennedy and Laura L Turpin, two grandchildren Kyle Kennedy and Ashley Scheyder and her husband Riley, sisters Anne Laura Butler, Lucille Ingram, Margaret Howard Montiquny, and Mary McPherson, Sister in Laws Shirley Stofflet and Barbara Turpin, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church 1908 Waleska Highway 108 Jasper GA 30143 October 21, 2019 at 1:30 pm by Fr. Byrd followed with a brief burial service at 3 pm at the Georgia National Cemetery at 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive Canton, GA by Fr Byrd. The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and support from the many volunteers from Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church and St Vincent De Paul Society.
