Anita Chapman Ivey

Anita Chapman Ivey, 90, entered the precious gates of Heaven on August 22, 2026.

Anita was born in Corinth, Mississippi but raised in Hapeville, Georgia where she graduated from Hapeville High School. Anita married her high school sweetheart, Don Chapman, and had three daughters: Cathy (Bobby) Adams, Terry (Tommy) Vann, and Vicky (Cary) Bowling. Anita was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. After raising her family Anita was employed by United Parcel Service as receptionist at their regional office in Atlanta.  Anita married Harry Ivey in 1988 and lived in Marietta and Kennesaw where they attended Roswell Street Baptist Church. 

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Holland and Nellie Babb, brother, Leslie Babb, sister, Linda Jones and her first husband, Don Chapman. 

If you choose, you may honor Anita by contributing to one of her favorite charities: St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Tunnel 2 Towers. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in October.
