Barbara Bagley

Barbara Patricia Bagley passed away on August 5th 2026. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Claude Taylor Bagley Jr in 2007, and her daughter Deborah Leigh Bagley in 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Bagley Corley (Robert), and her son, Lance Taylor Bagley (Fiona), along with three granddaughters and 4 great grandchildren.

Barbara lived a life of adventure. She was born in 1939 into a French speaking community in Manchester, NH. In her early teens, her mother and two younger sisters drove across the US and Canada for a new life in Anchorage, AK, where she met Claude in high school. She spent a year in college in Pasadena, CA, where she was a princess in the Pasadena Rose Parade, and she was a flight attendant for Reeve Aleutian Airways, traveling to remote villages throughout the Alaskan islands. She and Claude had three children in Anchorage before moving to Washington and Idaho for Claude’s college and work. His work with the Army Corps of Engineers brought the family to Vicksburg, MS, in 1979.

Barbara loved Vicksburg and was deeply involved in WCHS Athletic Booster club and managed McRae’s jewelry department for many years. When Claude died in 2007, she enjoyed her friends, pool, and aerobic classes at the YMCA and local garden clubs.

For her final year of life, she moved to Dahlonega, GA, to be closer to her son, grandkids, and great grandkids. She passed peacefully at 87 years of age. Thank you to her friends and Vicksburg’s extended family for welcoming and enriching our family for 47 years.

Barbara will be interred at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort, alongside her husband.
