Bobby Lee Lenear, 53, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, at 6:46 p.m., at Emory University Hospital, with his wife and children by his side.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Jean Smith; grandmother, Betty Joe Lenear; grandfather Bobby Lenear 1; grandfather, Johnnie Williams Sr; grandmother, Mary Odessa Williams; his pets, Louie, Miss Pam, Jenny, Red, and Missy Lenear; many more loved relatives. And lastly his friend, Christopher Robledo-Cabral.
Bobby Lee Lenear was born October 29th 1972 in Fort Worth, Texas and was the first son to Sammy Ray Williams and Clara Jean Smith. He was raised by his loving grandparents, Johnnie and Mary Williams for whom he truly loved. From an early age, Bobby was known for his goofy spirit and sensitive heart, qualities that stayed with him throughout his life and touched everyone who knew him. He was affectionately known by three nicknames that reflected his personality and presence: “Peewee,” “Bo,” and “Bam Bam.”
Bobby graduated from Trimble Technical High School, where he played football, attended prom, and built many lifelong friendships. He went on to attend West Texas A&M University, where he continued playing football, formed lasting bonds, and met the love of his life, Tammy. Bobby and Tammy began dating in September 1992, later marrying and welcoming their son, Brent Lee Lenear.
The family eventually settled in Liberal, Kansas, where Bobby spent 25 years building both a life and a legacy. He owned and operated his own landscaping business, The Lenear Company, and worked alongside his wife at her insurance agency. During the years 2003 to 2005, Bobby showed unwavering strength and devotion as he supported his family through his son’s battle with leukemia. Following Brent’s successful recovery, Bobby and Tammy were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Tia Alexandra Lenear.
As a father, Bobby was deeply involved in his children’s lives, coaching their sports teams and showing up for every moment that mattered. He found joy in riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, gardening, deer hunting, golfing, scuba diving, vacationing, preaching, culinary, and camping at national parks. He was a man of all trades: Bob the Builder, Bob the Plumber, Bob the Electrician, and the list goes on. Wherever he went, Bobby left a lasting impression and was known for his charm, kindness, and ability to inspire others with his million dollar smile.
Bobby’s life was defined by love for his family, his faith, and his community. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the strength he showed, and the memories that will be cherished forever.
