Charleen Reeves Wells

Charleen Reeves Wells of Ormond Beach, Florida died on Saturday, July 4th, 2026. She was 86 years old, born on August 5th, 1939, in Atlanta, Georgia to Charles and Thelma Reeves. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Don Wells; they recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. She is survived by her children, Fara Hicks, Angie Babcock, and Don Wells, Jr. as well as ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who called her Grammy.

Charleen attended Roosevelt High School and maintained contact with those friends throughout her life. She was a member of Confederate Avenue Baptist Church, where she played the piano, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and lead children’s choir for many years. Later, she joined Grace United Methodist Church and continued to teach. For most of her working career, she was a medical assistant to a podiatrist in Decatur, Georgia. She ended her career working at Emory University as a data collection specialist.

She loved to play in the dirt, spending most days working in the yard, tending flowers and pulling weeds. She loved to travel, visiting almost all of the United States plus Ireland and the Holy Land. Any time the car was moving, she wanted to be in it. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, boating, and seeing lighthouses. In later years, she enjoyed word puzzles, especially those that were themes of Christian songs or Bible verses. Most of all, she loved her Lord Jesus Christ. She was faithful in prayer and witnessed to the medical team who cared for her. While we grieve her loss on earth, we are comforted knowing she has been welcomed in Heaven.

Her ashes will be scattered at sea near Ormond by the Sea, Florida. No additional memorial service will be held.
