Charles Jarvis Tilley

Charles Tilley, age 66, of Canton, GA passed away on August 18, 2026.  

He was born September 14, 1959 in New Jersey and was the son of Helen and Henry.

Charles served in the U.S. Marine Corps as an expert mortarman. Serving in 'Operation Peace for the Galilee' War in 1982.

Following his military service, he built a career as a civil and design engineer. He took great pride in his work and in seeing his designs progress from an idea on paper to a completed, finished project. His accomplishments throughout his career were a source of great pride to him.

Charles also spent time working toward recovery through Alcoholics Anonymous and had periods of success in his journey. He spent time at a recovery house, continuing his efforts to overcome his struggles with alcohol.

Charles also enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles, which was one of his biggest interests throughout his life.

Charles is survived by his three children, cousin, Annie and sister, Helen.

He had a loving companion, Gunner, a Belgian Malinois who was to serve as a future service animal. Gunner was an important part of his life and recovery.
