In Loving Memory of Charles “Chuck” John Ulrich

July 7, 1933 – October 28, 2025

To know Chuck was to know warmth, steadiness, and heart. Born in Gloversville, New York, he spent his life between the small towns and open spaces he loved — Mayfield, New York; Justin, Texas; and Tyrone, Georgia — always finding peace in family, faith, and the outdoors.

Chuck’s love for baseball began early and stayed with him for life. In 1956, he was signed to play for the Washington Senators, but before stepping onto the field, he was drafted into the Navy — answering another great calling with pride. He often reflected on that turning point, grateful for both the dream he chased and the duty he fulfilled.

After his service, Chuck built a life grounded in family and hard work. He worked for Caterpillar, loved fixing and building things, and found joy in simple routines — a trip for ice cream, clearing the driveway in winter, stacking firewood before the snow came, or spending time at the bowling alley with friends.

He was a husband, father, grandfather, and man of faith whose quiet strength inspired everyone around him. Chuck’s wife Marlene, his daughter Terry, and his sons Tim, Kyle, and Jon, along with his grandchildren Cory, Jared, Mitchell, Jason, Olivia, Cooper, Ethan, and Siena, carry forward his love and laughter. His sisters Ruth Fairbanks and Nancy Mraz will remember him for his kindness and care.

Chuck will be remembered as a family man who showed love through action, a man of faith who led by example, and a man who found joy in the everyday moments that make life meaningful.

The family will gather privately at a later date to celebrate his life and the many memories he leaves behind.
