Charles Stanford McIntyre, affectionately known as Charlie, peacefully passed away at the age of 64 on September 22, 2023, in his beloved hometown of Cartersville, Georgia. Born on December 1, 1958, Charlie was a pillar of strength, love, and laughter for his family, friends, and community. He was a man of many passions and a heart full of kindness, whose legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Charlie was preceded in death by his adoring father, Stanford McIntyre, his loving mother, Barbara Ann Burden, his cherished nephew, Billy Joe McIntyre, Destiny A Howell and Isiah Regan, beloved grandchildren. Even though they are no longer with us, their influence on Charlie's life was profound and everlasting. Their shared memories and love for each other remain a testament to the tight-knit family bonds they treasured.
Growing up, Charlie developed a deep passion for fishing, golfing, and playing pool. These hobbies allowed him to enjoy the simple pleasures of life, all while creating lasting memories with his loved ones. He was an ardent supporter of the Atlanta Braves, and his unwavering spirit was a testament to his loyalty and dedication. Charlie was often seen with a Pepsi in hand, a small quirk that became a beloved part of his identity.
Beyond his personal interests, Charlie was a dedicated family man. He served as the president of the family reunion, a role he held with great pride and responsibility. These gatherings were the highlight of his year, and his ability to bring everyone together was a testament to his friendly and outgoing nature. Charlie's love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life, and his presence at these reunions will be deeply missed.
Those fortunate enough to know Charlie would describe him as funny, passionate, and friendly. His sense of humor was infectious, often turning a simple conversation into a memorable moment filled with laughter. His passion for his interests and his family was unmistakable, and it was this fervor that made him such a vibrant and cherished figure. His friendly nature made him approachable, and he was always ready with a word of encouragement or a helping hand.
Charlie is survived by his Wife Teresa McIntyre, two brothers Tim and his wife Tammy McIntyre, and Michael McIntyre; 5 Daughters Tessica and Bobby Howell of Jacksonville Florida, Kellie Morse of Raleigh North Carolina, Crystal and Eddie Bergman of Cartersville Georgia, Barbie and Tim Crocker of Cartersville Georgia, and Elaine and Grover Smothers of Raleigh North Carolina; Adam and Terra Tanturri of Euharlee Georgia, Brandon Moore of Euharlee Georgia, 3 Nephews, 19 Grand Children, and 10 Great Grand Children.
Charlie McIntyre was a beacon of light in our lives, and his absence will be deeply felt. However, the love, joy, and laughter he shared with us will continue to live on, a comforting reminder of a life well-lived. We will miss you, Charlie, but we are grateful for the time we had with you and the memories that will forever be etched in our hearts.
Small gathering for immediate family on October 7th at 2PM. A celebration of Life will be held on Sunday October 8th at Dellinger Park, 100 Pine Grove Road, Cartersville Georgia, Shelter Number Two.
