Egypt Michelle Barnett, 35, entered eternal rest on January 29 of 2026 at home in Dallas, Georgia surrounded by love. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia. She is preceded in death by her late father, Elbert Barnett and late mother, Delores Owens.
As a graduate of Central Texas College, Egypt worked at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center as a Nurse Care Partner, caring for others with compassion. Egypt enjoyed social gatherings with friends. Her hobbies were health, beauty, and fitness. She enjoyed a good workout. Her brother Marcus (Marcellus) lovingly describes her as a “gym rat”. She aspired to be a personal trainer.
As a faithful Jehovah’s Witness, she drew strength from her beliefs and carried herself with fierce self-respect, unwavering hope, warmth, and forgiveness. She will be remembered for her sweet voice, fearless and feisty spirit, strength, and her love of life.
Above all, Egypt’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishments were her children: Amaya Michelle Brown, Juelz Ezekiel Horne, Johnathan Earl Horne Jr., Legend Delores Horne, and Maverick Andoh. They were the center of her world, and her love for them was endless and unconditional.
To her children:
Your mother loved you more than words could ever express. You were her pride, her purpose, and her greatest blessing. Your mother’s love will always surround you, guide you, and remain a part of who you are.
Psalm 34:18 “Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Egypt is lovingly remembered by her grandmother, Ann Mae Clark, and her siblings: Loreako Collins, Siobhon Watson-Townes, Krystal Williams, Marcellus (Marcus) Owens, Marquis’ Owens, and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who will carry her memory forward with love and honor. Her love endures. Her memory remains. Her children are her legacy. Until we meet again sweet girl.
