Forrest Dulane Hale, Jr.

Forrest Dulane Hale, Jr., age 73, of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 18, 2025, surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on January 14, 1952, in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Forrest was the only child of Forrest Sr. and Betty Lee (Collins) Hale, who preceded him in death. As the son of an Air Force serviceman, Forrest spent much of his childhood living abroad in Germany, England, and Japan before settling with his parents in Warner Robins, Georgia.

He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Kennesaw State University and went on to build a meaningful career, serving in impactful roles such as Chief Financial Officer of the Georgia Subsequent Injury Trust Fund, Executive Director of Kids’ Chance of Georgia, and Managing Broker of Century 21 – Keystone Realty. His family believes that his greatest accomplishment was as a devoted father who always prioritized the well-being of his family.

In 1977, Forrest married the love of his life, Evelyn Pauline (“Polly”) Finlon, and together they shared 48 wonderful years of marriage. He is survived by Polly; their children, Carrie Baugus (Blake) and Forrest Dulane Hale III (Charlotte); and grandchildren, Poppy and Hazel Baugus, and William (“Liam”) Dulane Hale. He also leaves behind cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and a circle of devoted friends.

Forrest found joy in gardening, reading, spending time at the beach, and most of all, being with his family. He was a loving “Dadoo” who delighted in playing with his grandchildren and creating lasting memories with them – many of them at Disneyworld during annual trips with his extended family.

A man of deep faith and commitment to service, Forrest was a longtime member of Towalagia Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was also an avid yoga enthusiast and a proud graduate of the Butts County Leadership program.

Forrest lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. He never met a stranger, and his warmth and compassion touched everyone he encountered.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Dan Canter, MD, and his team for their unwavering support and care throughout Forrest’s journey.

A private memorial service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations to Kids' Chance of Georgia or the Towalagia Cemetery Fund would be most appreciated.
