It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of everyone’s Nana, Fredrica Nash Farris Caldwell, of Rome, GA. She passed away on August 16th, 2025, at her home after a brief illness. Nana passed away just a few weeks before her 84th birthday.
Freddie, as known by many, had a big personality in a small package, with an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. The sound of her laugh will be with us all for years to come. What gave Freddie purpose in life was her children and grandchildren. She loved being there to take care of her family and left this world, hoping they were at peace and happy.
Freddie had the tremendous blessing to have had two great loves of her life that proceeded her in death. Robert L. Farris passed away on 09/13/1989, and Joseph Caldwell passed away on 11/19/2019.
Freddie is survived by her brother Garnett Nash; children Ronald Farris, Lisa Howell (Jamie), and John Farris (Nichole); grandchildren Deforest Ellis, Daniel Ellis, Hunter Farris, Tristan Farris, Elijah Farris, Kallen Farris, Jay Howell, Amanda Howell, and Melody Rock; and great-grandchildren Jackson Haas and Rigby Howell.
Celebration of life will be held at Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church on August 22nd, 2025, at 3 pm (702 Pleasant Valley Road SE, Silver Creek, GA 30173). The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm before the service. Freddie’s last resting place will be at Eastview Cemetery and has been requested for family-only in attendance.
As we grapple with the loss of her physical presence, we have solace in knowing that Fredrica, Freddie, our Nana, is at peace and with our Lord Jesus. Although she is gone, she will live in our hearts forever.
