George Carl D'Andrea

George Carl D'Andrea, 80, passed away at the hospital after Open Heart Surgery on Friday, June 19, 2026, in Rome, Georgia. 

He was born February 22, 1946 to Triplatiano D'Andrea and Sadie Lyga in Waterbury, Connecticut. On June15, 1974 he married Gail Akey in Miami, Florida. George was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, The Fighting Seabees (NAVY). He also enjoyed using his hands to build and create many things throughout his life. He also enjoyed Golf, especially with his friend Michael Thompson.

He was survived by His daughters, Dodi Leslie, Lisa Brown, Jolene Hayden, Megan Twiggs; 3 son-in-laws; his 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; Nephew Scott Jamieson and family, and lets not forget his 3 wonderful dogs.

He was preceded in death by His Wife Gail D'Andrea; His Parents; His Grandparents; His Brother Donald D'Andrea; and his Sister Joan Jamieson. George was a man of many jokes, He will be greatly missed, the world is a little darker without him.

A Celebration of His Life will be held on Thursday, July 2nd at 6p.m. at Center Baptist Church in Cartersville, Georgia. We will be enjoying many of George’s Favorite Dishes and we can almost hear him saying, “What's for Dinner?”
