Buddy Roebuck

June 10, 1946 — May 2, 2026

George Lawrence Roebuck, Jr (Buddy Roebuck) of Conyers, GA passed away on May 2, 2026 peacefully in his home surrounded by family. Buddy was born on June 10, 1946, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA to Myrtle Humphries Roebuck and George L. Roebuck, Sr. He graduated from Rockdale County High School, served our country in the U.S Navy throughout the Vietnam Conflict and later at home with the Walk of Hero’s Veterans Memorial Park as a member of the Board of Directors. He served the youth of the community through service with the Boy Scouts and his local churches: First Baptist Church of Conyers and The Orchard Church in Loganville. Buddy also volunteered with 4-H and the Master Gardener’s programs in Rockdale County for many years.

Buddy owned several businesses and has been employed by many organizations including: Rockdale County Water Resources, Southeastern Systems, K-Mart, Holiday Inn, Georgia Power, Winn-Dixie, and Sweetheart Plastics. Although, “My favorite job is being a Papa to my two grandson’s Jack and Cubby”.

Papa will be greatly missed by all and is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Ruth Wingo Roebuck, one daughter Michele & Jason Eldredge and one son Michael & Melissa Roebuck. He has two grandchildren, Jack Eldredge and Caleb Beckett. He has three sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law who were more like siblings than “in-laws”: Bill Wingo, Jr., Walter Wingo (Deceased), Wayne Wingo, Lara Wingo Usina, Terry Wingo Haire, and Linda Wingo-Giacobbie and their families.

The Celebration of Life will be held at The Orchard Church, 1950 Highway 81, Loganville, GA. 30052 on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 2:00pm. If you choose to attend the celebration of life, please wear the attire of how you knew or were associated with Buddy in connection to him (Boy Scouts, Master Gardener’s, OA, Navy, 4-H, Church, etc.) In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Orchard Church (https://subsplash.com/theorchardchurch-ga/give).

Our family thanks you for the continued outpouring of kindness and prayers. Buddy is loved and missed by everyone. We take comfort in Jesus’ own words, who said that everyone who believes in Him “will live, even though they die.” With that promise in our hearts, we entrust Buddy to God’s keeping, knowing this goodbye is only temporary. Through faith in Christ, we look forward to the day when we will be reunited in the fullness of heaven’s peace and glory.
