George Luther Wilkes

George Luther Wilkes, age 84, of Winterville, GA. passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025 peacefully in his home. He was the baby of 6 boys, born in Athens, GA. on October 26, 1940 to the late Harold Wilkes and Mary F. Wilkes. In addition to his parents, He is preceded in death by his brothers Charlie, Ruford, Jack, Bobby, and Richard; Daughter, Anita Corsecadden and nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-nine years, Robin M. Wilkes; Daughters Ellette Shafer, Pamela Eures, Jennifer Gibson, and Kimberly McCreary; as well as several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. Following his service, he worked in Athens, GA as a welder for many years.

A private service will be held at a later date.
