Gordon James Dyker

Gordon James Dyker, 65, passed unexpectedly in his home in SE Atlanta on December 24, 2025. He was a cherished partner, brother, and friend.

Gordon grew up in Michigan, the youngest of three boys. He attended Central Michigan University and shortly after graduation, he moved south to Atlanta. Atlanta remained his home for over 40 years.

Gordon worked in several fields as a young man but settled into working at The Weather Channel where he remained until the age of 50. At that time, he began seeking positions where he could put to use his love of gardening and the outdoors. The last few years of his life, he worked with The Wylde Center - a non-profit organization that maintains several local neighborhood gardens and encourages involvement from the community.

Gordon loved the outdoors and being a part of the incredible team at the Wylde Center. His laugh was infectious and will be remembered always.

Gordon is survived by his life partner, Chip Hill, his brother Lloyd Dyker, sister-in-law Marylou, his beloved cat, Ollie and four puppies, China, Bear, Scruffy and Peanut.
