Gordon Alan Kell

Jun 4, 1957 — Jun 11, 2026

Woodstock

Alan Kell passed away on June 11, 2026, one week after his 69th birthday. He was born on June 4, 1957, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Gordon Webster Kell and Oralee Hill Kell. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Allison Kell.

Alan graduated from Coosa High School in 1975 and attended the University of Miami. He worked in several fields, notably as a musician in a resort band, before discovering his gift for car sales. He worked for several dealerships in the Atlanta area and ended his career at Marietta Toyota, where he spent 20 years. Well-liked by those who knew him, Alan kept a positive outlook through many health challenges and always looked forward to his next adventure. One of his favorite sayings was, “Always leave them smiling.”

Alan will be deeply missed by his wife, Beverly. Though their time together was short, they enjoyed traveling to the mountains and the beach. He was warmly welcomed into her family and especially enjoyed visiting Pittsburgh to meet her extended relatives.

Alan is also survived by many cousins and extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Haiti School through St Andrew UMC (check Give, choose Haiti school), the American Heart Association, or the American Diabetes Association.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on July 18, 2026, at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 3455 Canton Road, Marietta, GA 30066.
