Guy Leslie Scarborough, 69, of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away on February 7, 2023. He was born on March 29, 1953, in Dublin, Georgia, and was the son of Betty Veal (Scarborough) Lucas and Joe Smith Scarborough.
He was preceded in death by his mom and dad.
Les graduated from Douglas County High School in Douglasville, Georgia, in 1971, and attended Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia.
He started his music career in high school, playing lead guitar, bass guitar, keyboards and trumpet. As his passion for music flourished, he left college to become a professional musician, and performed in bands touring across the country and around the world. He recorded a top ten hit, “I Love the Night Life” with Alicia Bridges, included in the sound track of the movie “Love at First Bite”.
While touring, Les became interested in computer technology, created his own information technology company called Scarborough Network Consulting, and then later became Director of IT at MembersFirst Credit Union.
Les loved astronomy, bird watching, and all things science. He was a lifelong learner, art collector and supporter of starving artists.
He was a loving husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, friend and cat daddy. He will be greatly missed by Lori, his wife of 36 years, his brothers, Steve Scarborough (Annie), John Lucas (Tora), and Patrick Lucas (Julie), his sister, Sherree Coker (Chris), in-laws, Lane Brooks (Lillian), Vicki Pendleton (Steve), Mike Brooks, Erich Brooks, fifteen nieces and nephews, and his beloved cats Madie, Mesha and Max.
