James Russell Nichols

Mr. James Russell Nichols, age 89, of Gainesville, GA passed away at his home on August 26, 2025. He was born January 2, 1936 in Hammond, IN where while in high school he met his life long love and our mother, Irene Nichols. He relocated his family to Georgia in 1974 and settled in Stone Mountain.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Irene Nichols and his son, Thomas Nichols.

He is survived by their children, daughter, Gayle (Ed) Echols of Douglasville; sons, James “Michael” Nichols of Kona, HI, Joseph (Diana) Nichols of Ellijay; 2 grandchildren, Tami (Zack) Nichols-Harris of Stratham and James Gordon Nichols of Thomaston and 2 great grandchildren, Eli and Eva Harris of Stratham.

In accordance with the wishes of our father, there will be no funeral service.
