James "Jim" Dennis Telford

Jim Telford, 76, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away on June 4, 2026. Jim was born on February 28, 1950, and raised in Macon, Illinois. He married Sheila Jo (Jodi) Harrington in Decatur on August 4, 1973. Soon after, they moved to Downers Grove, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. Jim and Jodi finally settled in Kennesaw in the 1980’s when Jodi transferred to Delta Air Lines' headquarters. Jim operated a finish-and-trim carpentry business until his retirement. Over the years, Jim and Jodi kept a household full of cats, birds, fish, rescued dogs, and fostered Papillons. Jim was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA). He and Jodi enjoyed participating in their local Gold Wing Club, taking long rides together with friends throughout the region, and even making an extensive road trip to Austin, Texas, to visit family. When Jodi became incapacitated by dementia, Jim faithfully cared for her for several years until she died in 2023. We celebrate that Jim is now reunited with his beloved wife of 50 years.

Surviving family members include his mother, Eileen Telford; brothers John L. Telford and Joseph A. Telford, all of Moweaqua, Illinois; Brothers-in-law Lloyd G. Harrington, Jr. of Snellville, Georgia, and Charles R. Harrington of Austin, Texas; and sister-in-law Sue Breland, also in Austin, Texas. Cremation is being handled by Leaf Cremation, and the final resting place is private.
