James "Jim" Allen Yeats

James "Jim" Allen Yeats, 71, of Acworth, GA, passed away on July 15, 2026. Jim was born on June 19, 1955, in Coral Gables, FL, to John and Audrey Yeats. He was a proud 1973 graduate of Hialeah High School in Hialeah, FL, and later attended Maryville College in Maryville, TN, where he played football.

Jim's passion was sports. He loved cheering for the Miami Dolphins, the University of Tennessee Volunteers, and the Atlanta Braves. He will be remembered for his steady humor and unwavering dedication to the people he loved.

Jim is survived by his wife, Brenda Smith Yeats; his brother, Richard (Ann) Yeats of Maryville, TN; his daughters, Tricia (David) Meade of Maryville, TN and Kassie (Matt) Varnell of Apison, TN; and his grandchildren: Liam, Seth, Lilly, and Anna. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Audrey Yeats.

A private celebration of life will be held. The family thanks everyone for their support during this time.
