John was a kind, generous, and fun-loving man who truly never met a stranger. He had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Tom is survived by his beloved partner of 19 years, Fran Baker, Grayson, GA; his daughter Jessie Torhan Kallay and her husband Willis Kallay of Athens, GA; his son John Torhan of Roswell, GA; his sister Terri Martin of Kansas City, Missouri; and his cousin Andrea Hood of Piggott, Arkansas, and countless nieces and nephews.
Tom loved time on the golf course and often joked that he would never pass up a golf course or a good barbecue restaurant. His sense of humor was unforgettable. Whenever something clumsy or unexpected happened, Tom would grin and say, “You pulled a Fran.”
He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was caring, loving, and generous. His kindness, laughter, and unwavering friendship touched countless lives. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy lives on in the memories he’s created and the love he shared. Service Information will be added when available.
