Kathryn Robinson Maloney (Kay) was born in Warsaw, New York, on August 14, 1947, to Warren K. and Shirley D. Robinson. She is survived by her husband, Richard Maloney, and her sons Evan Hawkins (Sara), Shane Maloney (Jennifer), Jonathan Maloney (Leigh), and daughters Kimberly Dentice (Tony) and Caroline Lyle (Mark). She is also survived by her sisters: Barbara Wulff, Jeanie Tomanek, and Susan Anton, as well as her brothers, Warren K Robinson Jr, and Richard Robinson. An older sister, Mary Ann Robinson, predeceased Kay. Kay is the “Cool Grandma” to 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and a special aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is a BBA (Marketing) graduate from Cleveland State University and was in the Executive MBA program at FL Atlantic University at a time when few females were obtaining business degrees. Her career began with Getty Oil in marketing; however, most of her career was in Human Resources, where she held the professional PHR designation from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). She retired from Colonial Pipeline in Georgia as the Corporate Recruiter in the Human Resources Department. Kay also managed several temporary staffing offices and was very active in the Atlanta area HR community. The four F’s best describe Kay’s life- Faith, Family, Food, and Fashion. Her FAITH in her God and her church relationships had always been her rock in all phases of life. She is a covenant partner of Marietta Community Church. FAMILY was always a top priority. She seldom missed a celebration, game, performance, graduation, wedding, or more. As an accomplished designer/sewing phenom, she spent hours on costumes, prom and wedding dresses for nieces, grandkids, and other relatives. Of course, next is FOOD. Kay was a fabulous cook and baker and was at a professional level in both. Dinner at Grandma Kay’s was a special event for all. As a purist, most dishes/baked goods were prepared from “scratch”. FASHION defined Kay’s presence, no matter where she went. “Class” in style and person was often used as a description by those with whom she interacted. Her love, beauty, compassion, advice, talents, and smile will be missed by all.
