Leonard J. Goldberg

Leonard Goldberg, 78, of Decatur, GA, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Leonard was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up on Long Island. He shared 56 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Velda Goldberg. Leonard is also survived by his son Jeffrey Goldberg and his wife, Cynthia, of Acworth, Georgia; his son Justin Goldberg of Easthampton, Massachusetts; his granddaughter Tiffany McDonnell of West Dennis, Massachusetts; and his brother Robert Goldberg and his wife, Louisa, of Windham, New Hampshire.

Leonard earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Clarkson University, an MBA from Babson College, and master’s degrees from Bentley University and the former Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute. He retired as a partner at Gold & Goldberg Certified Public Accountants, a firm he founded with Bruce Gold, his business partner of more than 30 years.

An avid reader, a lover of sports and music, and a political junkie, Leonard had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a kind and gentle person who always put his family first; he will be sorely missed.
