It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lisa Rebecca Thames, 60 of Cedartown, GA on January 6, 2026 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Ms. Thames was born in Montgomery, AL on April 14, 1965 , daughter of the late William "Bill" Thames and Elizabeth Fisher Thames. She was also preceded in death by her grandfather Obed A. Fisher Sr. and Rebecca Fisher.
Survivors include a daughter Christine Holman of Montgomery, AL; 3 grandchildren Rhyn Shelton, Lailyn Shelton and Ansley Holman.
As an only child Lisa cherished her close relationship with her cousins Patty (Ronnie) Wells, Marsha (Mark) Tanner and Emma Tanner. Ronnie was the big brother that Lisa never had. Emma and Lisa spent many priceless nights going through her Pokémon collection.
Ms. Thames was a graduate of Prattville High School and a faithful employee of Anheuser-Busch/Lazer Logistics and continued to work up until the day of her passing.
She was a proud mother, a loyal friend and approached life with courage. Her legacy of courageousness and generosity will continue to live on through her daughter Christine and the many lives that she has touched.
She was a avid collector and loved all types of music and trivia. She never missed an episode of Dark Shadows and has over 5,000 VHS tapes with recordings of tv shows, movies and special news reports. She was a "MacGyver" and was not afraid to use duct tape.
She had a big heart for all animals especially dogs. In Lisa's memory and for her love for animals please make a contribution in her name to your local Humane Society.
Lisa's love for life will forever remain in our hearts.
In accordance to her wishes, Ms. Thames will be cremated with a private celebration of life.
