Louis Enrique Melendez, Jr.

Louis “Louie” E. Melendez Jr, 73, of Gainesville, Ga, passed peacefully on December 19, 2022. Louie was born in New Orleans, LA where he attended Holy Cross School. Louie went on to attend Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La. He later moved to Georgia and worked for many years in the commercial heat and air business. Louie was a light to all those around him with his humor and wit. He was so giving, kind and known as “Uncle Louie” to many in his neighborhood. He loved Road Atlanta, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Atlanta Braves. He will truly be missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Luis E. Melendez Sr. and Carmen Melendez; sister, Linda. He is survived by his son, Luis E. Melendez lll (Tara); his grandchildren, Alexis Swilley (Peyton), Hunter Melendez and Cameron Melendez. A celebration of life service will take place in the near future.
