Lydia Beth Armour

After a five-year battle with Leukemia, Lydia Beth Armour passed away at her home surrounded by friends, family, and her fur babies. She was sixty-eight. The youngest of four, she was predeceased by her parents, Willard Harold Reed, Jr. and Cynthia Lorene Hinton, and her brother, Willard Harold Reed III. She is survived by her husband, William S. Armour; her sister, Mrs. Bonnie Sawyer; her brother, David H. Reed Sr.; and several nieces and nephews.

In her life, she pursued what mattered most to her. In addition to pet rescues, Beth’s love of animals led her to start a pet-sitting business and later work as a vet tech at Hickory Flat Animal Hospital with her friend, Dr. Julie Parton. Returning to college, she earned an MS degree, with honors, from Kennesaw State University, followed by an MSW from The University of Georgia School of Social Work. This led to positions with Cherokee County Senior Services as an intake case manager and later with the non-profit Senior Services of North Fulton.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on October 10, 2026, at the Abundant Life Church, 430 Strickland Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30004. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the ASPCA, the American Cancer Society, or a local animal shelter.
