Marcia Ann (Raab) Brawner, age 80, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025 at Northside Hospital Cherokee in Canton, GA surrounded by the love and presence of her family.
Marcia was born in 1945 in Seneca, KS to her parents, Melvin and Ann (Bieri) Raab. She married the love of her life, Rick Brawner, at the age of 19 after having met at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis, IN. Together, they built a life full of love, adventure, and devotion for over 54 years prior to Rick’s passing in June 2019.
Throughout Rick’s career with Mobil, Marcia embraced a life of frequent moves, creating warm and welcoming homes for her family across the country. Her resilience, grace, and unwavering dedication to her family shone in every new place they called home. Marcia and Rick were especially proud to call Gulf Breeze, FL their home for their last 27 years together. During their many moves, Marcia held various Administrative Assistant positions and especially loved the work that she did to support the Emerald Coast Classic golf tournament in Milton, FL as well as some volunteer work. After retiring early, Marcia and Rick spent many joyful years traveling and sharing countless cherished moments with family and friends. Their love and partnership were the foundation of a life well lived.
Marcia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Robert Norman of Woodstock, GA; and son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Laura Brawner of Youngsville, NC. She was especially proud of her four grandchildren – Amanda (Norman) Sulhoff, Alex Norman, Zoe Brawner and Denyn Brawner; and her two great-grandchildren – Noah Sulhoff and Evelyn Sulhoff. She is also survived by her brother, Jim Raab, whom she was extremely close to, and five nieces and nephews.
She now rests in peace, reunited with her beloved husband Rick, and her two dear sisters-in-law, Joyce Raab and Myra Hixon—three people who brought immense love and joy into her life and preceded her in death.
Marcia’s wish was to be cremated, with her ashes to be spread alongside Rick’s in Pensacola, a place that held special meaning for them both.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her – especially by those who called her Mom, Gramma and Aunt Marcia.
