Margaret Ann Bouchard of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, after a life defined by love, strength, laughter, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to her family and the many people fortunate enough to know her.
Margaret was born on July 20, 1948, in Danville, Illinois, to the late Zilah Mae Uvick (Lucas) and William Henry Uvick. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Janet Marlin and Anita Askam.
A graduate of Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, Margaret dedicated much of her life to education. She was a longtime Economics teacher and Senior Class Advisor at Brunswick High School in Brunswick, Georgia. Her impact extended far beyond the classroom. She cared deeply for her students and took great pride in helping them celebrate one of the most memorable chapters of their lives.
During her years at Brunswick High School, Margaret played an important role in creating lasting memories for more than 1,000 students through Senior Grad Night trips to Walt Disney World and Senior Class cruises throughout the Caribbean. For Margaret, being an educator was about much more than teaching economics. It was about investing in young people, celebrating their accomplishments, and helping them experience life beyond the classroom.
Margaret also knew how to enjoy life herself. Following retirement, she and her husband, Bob, lived in Oakland Park, Florida, where they embraced their love of cruising. Together, they spent nearly 300 days at sea, traveling throughout the Eastern and Western Caribbean, making memories, enjoying the journey, and, whenever the opportunity presented itself, trying their luck at the slot machines.
Above all else, Margaret loved her family.
She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an incredibly proud Grammy. She had a tremendous heart and gave of herself freely, rarely asking for anything in return. She was patient, resilient, quietly strong, and always ready with her unmistakable sense of humor. Margaret had a special talent for delivering a perfectly timed comment under her breath, followed by a smile and a laugh that made it impossible not to laugh along with her.
Her humor, generosity, selflessness, and love will be deeply missed, but the memories she created and the lives she touched will continue to be celebrated by all who knew her.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) E. Bouchard; her son, Robert (Robby) A. Bouchard; her daughter-in-law, Erin Bouchard; her beloved grandchildren, Will and Brooke Bouchard; her sister, Martha Foster; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life honoring Margaret will be scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks those who feel led to make a contribution in Margaret's memory to the Arthritis Foundation.
