Marguerite M. Maletta

Marguerite “Peggy” M. Maletta (Bernardi), 65, of Douglasville, Georgia entered into eternity peacefully on September 29th with her family and beloved 4-legged princess “Maizey” by her side.

Peggy was born in Natick, Massachusetts on October 20,1959 to Helen (Evans) & Silvio Bernardi. She is preceded in death by her brothers Richard and Vincent Bernardi. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 45 years, Lawrence Maletta II, her son, Lawrence Maletta III, her daughter, Nicole (Foust) husband Jason & their children Hope Sizemore & Luke Foust, her sister Marie Aquino (Joe), her brother David Bernardi (Ellen), & her sister Rita Durkin (Wayne) and many nieces and nephews.

She was a 1977 graduate of Natick High School where she met her husband, Larry. They started dating on July 4, 1977, and were able to thankfully celebrate their fifty years of love for each other this past July 4, 2025. They married on April 19, 1980

Peggy will be remembered for how unselfishly she loved her faith, family & friends. She was always up for a fresh cup of coffee, a sweet treat, and enjoyable conversation. Peggy will also be remembered for her thoughtfulness in sending cards to her family & friends for every birthday, anniversary, or special occasion. She was an incredibly special person. Everyone she met, she left them feeling good about themselves, even if she met you for five minutes, they would always remember her. She was such a firm believer in Jesus Christ and not afraid of passing. She made sure everyone was aware of this to the very end and will forever comfort us in knowing she is free & whole with her Lord & Savior.

There will be no services at her request. She will be cremated and will have her ashes spread on Orange Beach at the Gulf Shores. She loved the beach and tried to vacation with her sisters or friends there at least once a year.

She has requested that we have a celebration of life gathering in her hometown in Massachusetts for her friends and family living there. No date has been determined.
