Marlene Mae Ulrich passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, at the age of 87.
She was born on May 3, 1939, in Schenectady, New York, to Leland Orland Rockwell and Margaret Frances Wood. Throughout her life, she called Mayfield, New York; Justin, Texas; and Tyrone, Georgia home.
Dedicated to caring for others, she graduated from Ellis Hospital School of Nursing in September 1960 with an Associate Degree in Nursing. She became a Registered Professional Nurse in January 1961, licensed by The University of the State of New York Education Department. Over the course of her career, she served in a variety of nursing roles, including hospital nursing, private duty nursing, and with the Fulton County Nursing Service. Her compassion, professionalism, and commitment will be remembered by many.
On November 1, 1959, she married Charles J. Ulrich. Together they built a loving family and shared many happy years together.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Terry, Tim, Kyle, and Jon; and by her eight cherished grandchildren: Cory, Jared, Mitchell, Jason, Olivia, Cooper, Ethan and Siena. Her family was the center of her life, and she found great joy in watching it grow through the generations.
She embraced life with warmth, humor, and unmistakable style. She was rarely without her signature red lipstick, delighted in a good lobster dinner, enjoyed colourful sunsets and thunderstorms. She loved spending time in the pool and had a wonderful laugh that brought joy to those around her. Whether sharing stories, enjoying family gatherings, or simply making others smile, she created memories that will be treasured forever.
She was dedicated to Christ and sought God’s presence in all that she did.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her caring heart, unwavering dedication to her family, her cinnamon rolls and apple pie and the kindness she shared with everyone she met. Her legacy of love, compassion, and laughter will live on in all who knew her.
The family will gather privately at a later date for a celebration of life.
