Martha Lee Reese

Martha Lee Reese, age 73, of Cave Spring, Georgia, went to her heavenly home on September 28, surrounded by her loved ones.

Martha loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her Nanny. She enjoyed watching birds, especially hummingbirds, creating beautiful quilts, and spending time gardening. Martha found joy in the simple things in life and cherished the time she spent with the people she loved.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Manlee and Josephine Boyd; her daughter, Lesley Land; her grandson, Will Reese; her sister, Jolene Henderson; and her brother, Marston Boyd.

Martha is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Billy Reese; her daughters, Tobie (Michael) Loveless of Rome and Jennifer (Richard) Page of Calhoun; her son, William Reese of Rome; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Thomas (Diane) Boyd of Cedar Bluff, Alabama, Timmy Boyd of Rome, Mark Boyd of Rome, Joey Boyd of Rome, Chico Boyd of Rome, and Ray Boyd of Rome; and her sisters, Gay (Donald) Wright of Attalla, Alabama, and Tina Causey of Rome. She also leaves behind a slew of nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Cave Spring Medical Center, Advent Medical Group, Atrium Medical Group, Pruitt Hospice, Leaf Cremation of Georgia, and all of the medical personnel who helped care for Martha throughout the past 40 years.

Martha will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. A celebration of life for Martha will be announced at a later date.
