Mary “Jill” McArthur Willis Meadows

May 2, 1955 — November 8, 2023

Powder Springs, GA

Mary “Jill” McArthur Willis Meadows, 68, of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away on November 8, 2023, surrounded by her children. She was born on May 2, 1955, in Rome, Georgia, and was the daughter of the late Rudolph “Rudy” and Marceline “Marcie” McArthur. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Terry McArthur; her former husband, James “Jimmy” Russell Willis, the father of her children and lifelong friend; and her beloved husband, Carlton Meadows. She gave her whole heart to those she loved, including her cherished fur babies. She found joy in the simple comforts of home, thrift shopping, and rarely missed an Atlanta Braves game, cheering them on for decades—sometimes loudly, sometimes by covering her eyes, saying “OH MY GOD OH MY GOD, I CAN’T WATCH” followed by “I sure do love them, boys!” She loved music, especially Rod Stewart, and found humor in everyday life, often sharing laughter with those around her. She was a proud “daddy’s girl” who loved her parents deeply and cared for her mother for many years. Their bond was filled with daily laughter and love.

She is survived by her children, Jamie, Julie, and Jimmy Jr.; her brothers, Freddie and David McArthur; her grandchildren, Jordan, Ashley, Addisyn, Allison, Kaylen, and Carley; and her great-grandchildren, Maddox, Bronson, Liam, Isla, and Grayson, all of whom brought her endless pride and joy. Jill will be deeply missed, forever loved, and remembered for her strength, her laughter, and the way she loved her family so completely. As she would say, in her own spirited way, “I’m a whoop your ass if you do that again!”—a phrase that perfectly captured her humor and loving fierceness.

The celebration of life dinner was at her favorite hometown restaurant, Wallace BBQ, in Austell Ga.
