Michael Patrick Carroll

Michael (Mike) Patrick Carroll was born June 7, 1950 to Elaine Edquist and Richard Carroll in Superior, WI. He went home to be with his lord and savior, and the love of his life on February 2, 2026.

If you knew Mike, you knew he had nine lives and lived a life that far surpassed even his own expectations. He proudly served his country as a soldier in Vietnam, before he returned home and spent several years as a missionary. He married Abbie Ann Stuart on November 11, 1978 and they celebrated 45 years of marriage before her passing in May 2024. They raised 3 children and later in life were reunited with a daughter that completed their hearts. He worked for the Superior School District as a custodian for 25 years, before moving south to El Paso, TX where he lived his dream as an antique dealer. He relocated to Colorado Springs in later years to be close to family. After his wife’s passing, he moved to Douglasville, GA where he spent his final days surrounded by love, grandchildren, and catching the elusive fish that had outsmarted him for so many years.

He loved the lord with a fierceness few possess. He was known for his generosity and fun-loving nature, especially his years as “Jasper the Clown” and as a self-proclaimed ventriloquist. He was a jack of all trades from cleaning carpets to painting houses to selling tattoo supplies, Mike loved the hustle.

He is survived by his four children Siri Papberg, Joshua Carroll, Sarah Mayne, Elizabeth Powell, nine grandchildren, Devin, Brandon, Kaylee, Eve, Alexis, Logan, Terrianna, Lillianna, and Jewlianna, and one great-grandchild, as well as sisters Kathy Peterson and Nancy Holzem, brothers Tommy Carroll, David Carroll, Dennis Carroll, Don Carroll, Patrick Carroll, Brian Popovich, Jimmy Popovich and his special foster mom Barb (Grandma Nick) Lundquist. He was proceeded in death by his wife Abbie Carroll, mother Elaine Popovich, father Richard Carroll, and sister-in-law Shirley Carroll.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Wisconsin this summer.
