Michael Cornelius Huot

September 26, 1950 — February 14, 2026

It is with deep sorrow and enduring love that we announce the passing of Michael Corneilus Huot, who passed away on February 14, 2026, at the age of 75.

He was a proud United States Navy veteran, devoted father, passionate hockey coach, movie enthusiast, and a man of steady faith and strength. He honorably served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of Helicopter Combat Support Squadron Seven, serving on the support team. His time in the Navy reflected the discipline, courage, and loyalty that defined his life.

He was the beloved husband of Diane Huot, who preceded him in death. Their bond was one of deep commitment and love.

He was the proud and loving father of his child, Christopher Michael Huot, and was honored to serve as Class Parent for the Dearborn High School Class of 1995. To his son, he was more than a father, he was a hero, a life coach, protector, and biggest supporter. He taught him faith, perseverance, integrity, and what it means to stand firm through life’s trials.

He was the cherished son of Mary Cathrine Elgie and Robert Louis Huot. He was a loving brother to Sandra Kelly, Robert Huot, Suzanne Sarna, and Michelle Poborka. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, along with many friends who became like family over the years.

He had a deep love for movies and found joy in sharing his favorite films with those around him. Hockey was one of his great passions. Whether coaching, mentoring, or cheering from the sidelines, he poured his heart into the game and into the lives of others.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the promise that death is not the end. As it is written in John 11:25, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” His faith was his anchor, and that hope now carries those who love him.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. ❤️🙏
