Miguel Angel Serrano Arreche, age 76, passed away peacefully in Cartersville, Georgia, on July 18, 2026, at 4:04 a.m., surrounded by his family.
Miguel was born on December 19, 1949, in Puerto Rico, the son of Miguel Serrano and Yolanda Arreche. When he was just one year old, he moved with his two sisters to New York, where they were raised by their loving parents in the borough of Staten Island. In 1959, the family returned to Puerto Rico, where he remained through much of his adulthood.
He graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with high honors and began his career as a financial advisor. Later in life, he returned to Staten Island, where he earned a master’s degree in Christian Ministry. He also became a tutor for children with special needs, making a lasting impact on their lives.
Miguel was also the author of two published books in which he shared his life experiences and the lessons he learned along the way. He had been working on a third book, which he did not get the chance to finish.
His faith was an important part of who he was, and he shared it openly with others throughout his life. No matter where he lived, Puerto Rico always remained close to his heart. It was a place he loved deeply and carried with him wherever he went.
He is survived by his children, Miguel, Carla, Angel, Nikol, Eddie, Peter, and Guillermo; his sisters, Yolandita and Diane; his grandchildren; his beloved pets, Levy, Roxy, and Dexter; and many extended family members and friends.
His legacy lives on through his family, his faith, and the many lives he touched over the years. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
His ashes will be returned to Puerto Rico and scattered along its coastal waters.
