Nancy Huff Hatch

January 26, 1939 — June 15, 2025

Nancy Huff Hatch passed away peacefully at home Sunday, June 15th with her family at her side following a lengthy illness.

Nancy Ann Huff was born to James Shanks Huff and Lucyle Johnson Huff January 26th, 1939 in Decatur, Georgia. Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, CB Hatch Jr; her daughter Margo Hatch Latta (Kevin); her son James Hatch (Brittany); grandchildren Jameson, Riley, Lilah, and Jamie; and friends she loved like family.

Nancy graduated from Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, and followed with world travels and exciting careers spanning retail, creative endeavors, and travel. She and her husband CB were married October 23, 1976 and built their life in Cartersville since 1977. Once arrived, Nancy established the Studio Gift Shop in downtown Cartersville and became very involved in the community, serving in the Cartersville Service League as well as on the Board of the Chamber of Commerce. She was proud to have played integral roles in many fundraisers supporting local charitable causes. She accompanied her husband on many international business trips and used those experiences to write a column for The Daily Tribune called "Traveling Lite".

Nancy and CB were founding members of Trinity United Methodist Church where she wrote and published the first church newsletter, sang enthusiastically in the choir, served the Meals on Wheels Program, as well as volunteering for any job that needed doing with a smile. She also worked as an art para-pro at Cartersville Elementary School for 9 years, where she found joy working with children amongst her friends. Though the lives she touched were many, none more so than her husband, children, and grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors at 10 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, June 28th at Trinity United Methodist Church and a memorial service will follow at 11 o’clock. A private graveside service will be held at a later date with family and close friends. For those who prefer to make a donation in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in honor of Nancy to Etowah Valley Humane Society or Trinity United Methodist Church.
