Nola Carol Brown Edwards, 72, of Foley, Alabama, passed away on April 28, 2025.
She was born on December 26, 1952, in Foley, Alabama and was the daughter and ninth child of the late Verlin and Vesta Carver. She was proceeded in death by her siblings Rodney Carver, Richard Carver, Mary Carver Bolkeny, Ellen Carver Deaver, and Judy Carver Olson. She grew up a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Bon Secour, Alabama.
Nola had a sweet, gentle, and kind spirit about her. Every person who met Nola absolutely loved her. She loved sewing and was meticulous at every detail. Nola enjoyed crafting, painting, working in her yard, and she could fix anything. She loved caring for her cats, and most importantly she loved spending time with her family. She never wanted stuff and was always generous and selfless.
Nola was a fun and loving mother, grandmother “Nana Nola”, and great-grandmother “GraNola”. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her three children: Marcie Drake (Lee), India Gibson (Glen), and Tracy Brown (Laurie); and eight grandchildren: Joshua Lochrico, Colby Lochrico, Trevor Lochrico, Jana Brown Stegman (Mike), James “Trip” Gibson III, Julia Gibson, Madison Hance Lowry (Daniel), and Emma Brown Rayborn (JT); and eleven great-grandchildren: Jackson Taylor, Lakyn & Annastyn Lochrico, Remi Jones, Annabell Ingram, Violette Lochrico, Tyler & Thomas Lowry, Marley & Beckett Stegman, and Nellie Rayborn. Nola is also survived by her siblings Angus Carver, Martha Carver Falconer, Phyllis Carver Zach, and Dallas Trent Carver.
A celebration of life will be on July 12, 2025.

Thank you to everyone who prayed for her throughout her journey home to be with Jesus. She never feared death, because of the promise of eternity.
