Olga Knight (née Castillo), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, in Ranger, Georgia. She was 66 years old.
Born on October 23, 1959, in Detroit, Michigan, Olga carried with her throughout her life the warmth and strength of her roots — a rich heritage shared between the United States and Mexico, and a family whose love knew no borders. Wherever life took her, and it took her many places, she had a remarkable gift for building community and leaving lasting impressions on the hearts of all who knew her.
Olga devoted her life to the service of others. Her career in social work was not merely a profession, it was a reflection of who she was at her core: a woman who saw the needs of others and answered the call without hesitation. That same spirit of giving extended to her role as a grandmother, where she poured herself joyfully into the lives of her grandchildren. She was also a faithful and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where her testimony and service were a quiet, steady light to those around her.
She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 39 years, Marvin Knight; her daughters, Monica Pinier (Jeremy) and Marissa Knight Hovers (Danny); and her cherished grandchildren, Eva & Olivia Pinier and Xander & Logan Hovers. She is also survived by a wide and loving extended family spanning both the United States and Mexico, and by countless dear friends accumulated across the many states she called home throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Dora and Ramiro Castillo, and her brother and her sister-in-law, Ramiro Castillo Jr. and Kimberly.
Olga Knight was a woman who made every room warmer, every burden lighter, and every person she encountered feel seen and valued. Her faith guided her, her family defined her, and her love for others was the thread woven through every chapter of her life. She (and her custom cakes) will be profoundly missed and forever cherished.
A private viewing was held for family on Tuesday, March 17 by Leaf Cremation, and a celebration of life service will be held at the Ellijay Georgia Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; 189 Dogwood Drive on Saturday, March 21, at 11am.
