Patricia Kay Edwards, age 76, of Waleska, Georgia, passed away on February 10, 2026.

Born in Cottonwood, Arizona, Patricia was raised in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where she later attended Middle Tennessee State University. She proudly served her country by enlisting in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era, an accomplishment she considered one of her greatest honors. Patricia was a strong believer in the value of education and earned a dual bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University and the University of Texas at Dallas.

Throughout her life, Patricia had a deep love for travel, fine arts, and good food—along with a well-enjoyed margarita. She especially cherished her morning coffee and often joked that she prayed there would be coffee in Heaven. Known for her sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor, Patricia had a gift for making others laugh until they cried.

In addition to her time in Tennessee, Patricia also lived in Dallas, Texas. In 2018, she moved to Canton, Georgia, to be closer to her beloved daughter and family.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert Powell James, Sr. and Mildred Tipton Robinson; and her siblings, Lois James and Wilbert James, Jr.

She is survived by her only child, Laura (Chris) Godfrey; and her grandsons, Grant and Cole Godfrey. She is also survived by her siblings, Brenda Lowe, Johnny Michael James, and Sandra Brello.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Patricia’s legacy of laughter, service, strength, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
