Patricia Diana Holmes

With love, gratitude, and cherished memories, we celebrate the beautiful life and legacy of Patricia Diana Holmes, who was born on June 18, 1948, in Miami, Florida, to Lucille McIntosh and Downing Holmes. Patricia departed this earthly life on August 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, perseverance, laughter, and, above all, joy.

Her Legacy Continues

Patricia leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children: her daughter, LaShanda Lucille Aquino Sabino, also known as Phoenix; and her sons, Gregory Seniors and William C. Seniors III. 

She is also survived by her sister, Mary China Days; and her beloved grandchildren, Julio Benjamin Aquino Sabino, Lucia Luna Aquino Sabino, Annaya Seniors, Gregory Seniors Jr., and Olivia Seniors. 

The family also lovingly acknowledges Patricia’s extended family, including her surviving nieces and nephews, cousins, family friends, and the many people whose lives were touched by her presence. 

Although Patricia’s earthly journey has ended, the joy she gave to others continues. It lives in every story that will be told about her. 

It lives in the laughter that will come when family and friends remember something funny she said or did. 

It lives in the music that makes someone want to get up and dance. 

It lives in family gatherings, in meals prepared with love, in faith, and in every person who chooses to keep moving forward when life becomes difficult.

Patricia was truly full of life. She possessed a fiery spark, a wonderful sense of humor, and a presence that could brighten a room.

She gave generously of herself to others and had a way of leaving an impression on the people she encountered. Whether through a conversation, a joke, a story, a helping hand, or simply her presence, Patricia had a special gift for bringing joy into the lives of others.

A Life in Motion

Driving was more than Patricia’s profession—it was something that genuinely fulfilled and excited her.

Throughout her working life, Patricia served others from behind the wheel in many capacities. She was a school bus driver and later worked as a transportation driver within the television and film entertainment industry. She also trained shuttle bus drivers and proudly drove during the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.

Patricia loved driving. The open road, meeting people, going places, and helping others reach their destinations brought her tremendous fulfillment. In many ways, it reflected the way she lived her life—always moving forward.

And that spirit was captured perfectly in the words she lived by: “NEVER GIVE UP!”

Those words were more than a motto for Patricia. They represented her determination, resilience, strength, and faith. Through life’s joys and challenges, she continued forward with that unmistakable Patricia spark.

A Woman of Faith

Patricia’s faith was an important part of her life. She enjoyed attending church and was a member of Greater Traveler’s Rest House of Hope in Decatur, Georgia. Her faith was reflected not only in worship but also in the love she extended to others.

Scripture reminds us:

“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.” — Proverbs 17:22

How fitting those words are for a woman whose laughter and joyful spirit became medicine for so many.

Patricia’s greatest legacy was the joy she created in people.

She had an impact on the lives she touched. She made people laugh. She made people feel welcomed. She gave from her heart. And she reminded those around her that even when life becomes difficult, there is still reason to keep going, keep believing, keep loving, and never give up.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7

Patricia Diana Holmes lived. She laughed. She loved. She gave. She persevered. And she brought joy.

Rest peacefully, Ms. Pat as she was affectionately called by those who knew her. Your journey here is complete, but the joy you gave us will never be forgotten.
