Randy Russell Wheeling, 70, of Acworth (Bartow County), passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026. He was preceded in death by his mother, O’dell “Dell” Stroup Wheeling Thrash; his father, Bill Wheeling; his stepfather, "Tip" Thrash; and his brother, Ricky Wheeling.
He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Williamson (Nathan) of Silver Creek; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren: Blake Bunch (Taylor)—Malaki, Noah, Sawyer, and Kaisleigh of Adairsville; Silas Cone of Peachtree City; and Bethany Cone—Delilah, Everleigh, Nala, and Ryder of Silver Creek. He is also survived by several cousins.
From a young age, Randy was fascinated by cars and airplanes. He began by building model cars and later progressed to building complex, remote-controlled airplanes and helicopters, taking great pride in perfecting every detail. His passion for these hobbies reflected his creativity, patience, and remarkable attention to detail. He started his career at Bill Benson Service Station at the age of 18 and later fulfilled a lifelong dream by earning his pilot’s license. He truly loved to fly, and being in the air brought him great joy and a deep sense of freedom.
In 1991, Randy founded Peach State Classics in Alpharetta, Georgia, where he was renowned for his extraordinary skill in the complete restoration and repair of classic cars and trucks.
Randy was a loving son, father, and grandfather known for his kind disposition and the exceptional care he provided to his mother until her passing. He was deeply loved and appreciated, and he will be greatly missed by many.
