Rebecca S. Lowe, of Emerson, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Becky was the youngest daughter of the late Edgar Eugene “Gene” Poole and Marion “Louise” Smith Poole. She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Ben Lowe; her brother, Joseph Walton Poole; nephew, Robert Poole; sister, Nancy Bruce; brothers-in-law, Joel Bruce, Earl LeRoy Poole, Jody Lowe, Andy Lowe, Michael Lowe, Larry Lowe, and James Lowe; sisters-in-law, Rhonda Lowe, Cora Harris, Terry Lowe, and Norma Jean Lowe; father-in-law, Jack (Dale) Lowe; and mother-in-law, Lucy Mae Harris Lowe; the love of her life and father of her children, Harvey Lowe.
A lifelong resident of Bartow County, Becky is survived by her daughters, Jessica Bishop (Rory) and Heather Choate (Brian); and her cherished grandchildren, Madeline Choate, Isaac Bishop, and Noah Bishop. She also leaves behind her adopted sons, Chris Ledford and Shane Bruce (also her nephew). Becky also held a special place in her heart for Brad Adkins—stepfather to Jessica, Ben, and Heather, and “Papa Brad” to Madeline, Isaac, and Noah.
She is survived by her sisters Donna Widner, Mary Poole, and Linda Sue Barron; and her extended brothers and sisters: Jason Lowe, Pete Lowe, Olin Lowe, Odum Lowe, Terry Lowe, Jackie Lowe, Stella Lowe, and Lilly Lowe. Her life was full of love, and she was surrounded by a large, close-knit family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Becky had a lifelong love for animals—both wild and domestic—and a joyful spirit when it came to food (as long as it wasn't raw!). If Becky were here, she’d remind us all to “Love like Jesus and fully trust in the Lord.”
A memorial service to celebrate Becky’s life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Pugliese Farms at 3:00 PM, with food and fellowship beginning at 1:00 PM. The service will be officiated by Pastor Ricky Allen; New Canaan Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of non-perishable food items in Becky’s honor. All contributions will support local food banks as part of a community food drive in celebration of her generous spirit and love for others.
