Richard Clark Topping Sr.

Mar 9, 1948 — Oct 20, 2026

Richard “Rick” Clark Topping Sr. passed away on October 20, 2026, after an extended illness. Rick was a hardworking man who believed in dedication, determination, and doing things right. He spent most of his professional career in sales until his retirement. He was also a skilled handyman who volunteered his craft to anyone in need. There was rarely a time when Rick sat still.

One of the places closest to Rick’s heart was Cherokee Town & Country Golf Club, where he worked for 20 years. Outside of work, he was a skilled ballroom dancer and an avid golfer, a passion he shared with his two sons.

Above all, Rick was proud of his family. He was always there to answer the phone, and his family knew they could turn to him when they needed him. Whether through his willingness to help, his practical skills, or simply being there, he showed his love in ways that will never be forgotten.

Rick was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Nellie Dudley, his brother Dennis Dudley and his sister Sheila Rodriguez.

He is survived by his four children: Richard “Clark” Topping Jr.; Maria Dragann; Devin Seagle; and Spencer Topping. He is also survived by his brother, Jamie Dudley and his seven cherished grandchildren: Sophia, Charlie, and Rosie Topping; Tyler and Marcus Dragann; and Beau and Dakota Seagle.

For 16 years, Rick shared his life with his longtime partner, Leisa Bedingfield, who was an important part of his life and his journey. He also leaves behind extended family and friends who will continue to cherish his memory.

Rick’s suffering has ended, and may he now rest in peace. His absence will be deeply felt, but his memory will live on through the family he loved, the values he held dear, and the many lives he touched.

May he now rest peacefully.
