Richard Arthur Zolko Jr., born February 12, 1966, passed away on August 11, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of music, craftsmanship, and devotion to his family. A standout high school basketball player, Richard carried his determination to be the best throughout his life and career, evolving from a mechanic into a master drywall installer and highly respected commercial construction foreman. Beyond his trade, he was a gifted musician who shared his passion through playing guitar and inspiring others with music.
Since November 2022, Richard fought a long and courageous battle with stage 4 colon cancer. Through every struggle of his diagnosis, he demonstrated strength, doing everything in his power to remain present, active, and supportive for those around him. Above all, Richard was a compassionate and empathetic person whose world centered on creating lasting positive interactions with everyone he encountered.
He is survived by his beloved mother, Bonnie Gordon; step-parents Daniel Gordon and Lesley Zolko; his son, Wade Zolko; his siblings, Angela Lundy, Nadine Fahey, and Christopher Zolko; his nieces and nephews, Valerie, Xavier, Matthew, Archer, Seamus, Andrew, Jonny, Rebecca, and Heather; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Caleb, Logan, Bella, and Nathaniel.
Richard will forever be remembered for his kindness, work ethic, and extraordinary spirit.
