Robert Froemming Williams, Jr.

Robert (Bob) F. Williams, 77, of Dalton, GA, passed away on May 10, 2026.  He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Gayle Singer Williams, his children, Diana, of Dalton, GA., Bryan (Rachel), of Greeneville, TN, and 5 grandchildren: Nathaniel, Nevaeh, Ethyn, Elijah, and Alianna. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Holston (Lowe), his brother, Michael Williams, his sister-in-law, Sherry Dunbar (Ken) of Richmond, VA., and four nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his brother, Christopher Williams, and his nephew, Matthew Holston.

Bob was born and raised in Richmond. He graduated from Benedictine HighSchool and Virginia Tech. After graduating, he was drafted into the United States Navy during Vietnam. After a long career in chemical engineering, he began teaching high school math, which he truly enjoyed and considered his calling. Bob was a member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Calhoun, Georgia, and had served on its Vestry.

A funeral service will be held at St Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 224 Trammell St., Calhoun, GA., on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. A Reception will be held in the Parish Hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
