After battling cancer over the last several months, Dr. Ronald Lee Allen went home to be with the Lord on August 11, 2025. He was born on April 12, 1941, in Peoria, Illinois. Ron was a pastor in several churches across the United States for over 45 years. He called himself a “retreaded pastor” after retiring from his 26-year ministry at Calvary Baptist Church in San Francisco, California, and moving to Georgia where he became an active member of First Baptist Woodstock for the last several years. After moving to Georgia, Ron was involved in several men’s Bible studies that he often led and was also an active member of a local umpiring association until a year ago when he finally stepped away from umpiring at the age of 83. Ron was married to his beloved wife, Barbara Jean Allen (Webster), who was by his side and served with him for the past 62 years. Ron is celebrating in Heaven as he has now seen his Savior face to face. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Allen, mother, Dorothy Hippe (Hill), stepmom, Armanda Allen, stepdad, Leonard Hippe, brother, Kenneth Allen, sister, Linda Roberts, and son-in-law, William Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Allen (Webster), his children and spouses including: Robert Allen and wife Sandra, Kimberly Johnson, Brad Allen and wife Cherie, Mike Allen and wife Stacey, Cathy Ledesma and husband Thomy, Shawn Allen and wife Sonia, and Joey Allen. He is also survived by his brother, George Hippe (Spokane Valley, WA) and sister Gayle Van Scoy (Greenville, SC). Ron and Barb have 21 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church Woodstock on August 30th at 11:00 a.m. A Time of Remembrance with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to missions at First Baptist Church Woodstock.
