It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected death of Sharon Crawford (neé Young) on Saturday, November 21, 2020, of a non-Covid lung infection complicated by Interstitial Lung Disease. Sharon, of Acworth, Georgia, was born to Stuart and Joan Young sixty-eight years ago in Ottawa, Canada. Sharon was predeceased by her ex-husband, Bruce Crawford. She is survived by her beloved children Jennifer Coxe (Charles) of New Jersey and Scott Crawford (Stephanie Allen) of Oregon; her treasured grandchildren Sean, Kirsten, and Ryan Coxe; her adored sisters and their extended families: Dianne Rossy, Chris Cavanagh, Cory Rossiter, and Shelley-Ann Delorey, as well as her adored sister-in-law Janet Foran and family, all of Ottawa. Sharon was the beloved crazy aunt to numerous nieces and nephews and a special cousin to so many. From Canada to across the States there are many that called her dear friend that also mourn her loss today. Sharon was a highly-awarded real estate agent in Cobb County for 37 years, working mostly in new home sales over the last two decades. She was the ultimate professional, who enjoyed helping first-time homebuyers the most because it gave her such pleasure to guide them in this momentous occasion and share in their joy. At her core, she was a teacher who gave her energy to others to make them feel better. More than anything, Sharon was devoted to her family and friends. She was an exceptional mother who gave selflessly to her children and grandchildren. She was a talented storyteller who could charm anyone with her wit and laughter—she had the “gift of gab,” as all who knew her would attest. Even in her darkest moments in the ICU, she was still making the nurses laugh and come to visit her even when it wasn’t their shift. Due to Covid concerns, the family has chosen to wait to hold a memorial service for friends in Atlanta, as well as the funeral and celebration of life in Ottawa, Canada at a later date. Your tributes and memories can be shared by posting here on a virtual wall which the family will use for a virtual celebration of her life, hopefully within the month. You can get the addresses for Sharon’s children, and leave your information to hear more about memorial services, by clicking here. In lieu of flowers, Sharon’s family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to either a local food bank of your choice or to further research with the American Lung Association. Sharon’s loss leaves a hole in many people’s hearts today, but we are all the better for knowing her. May her memory be a blessing that comforts all of us in the years to come. Rest in Peace.
