Shirley Faye Ledford

Shirley Faye Ledford, 77, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, in Acworth.

Born on July 12, 1949, Shirley was a lifelong resident of Acworth, Georgia, and spent her life surrounded by the people and places she loved most. She was a woman with a heart bigger than words could ever describe. Shirley never met a stranger, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her loved her.

Shirley was the beloved wife of the late Jimmy Ledford. The two were married on September 7, 1969, and shared a lifetime of love, memories, and a bond that remained special throughout Shirley’s life. Jimmy was her one and only love, and the love they shared was a treasured part of her story.

Above all else, Shirley was devoted to her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who treasured every generation. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Jr.) McKinney; grandchildren, Sean Walsh, Travis (Kim) McKinney, and Lily McKinney; great-grandchildren, Peyton McKinney and Lane McKinney; and her sister, Sarah Gayton. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she loved each of them with her whole heart.

Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy Ledford; her parents, Annie and Herman Parker; and her siblings, Wesley Parker, Hershel Parker, Earl Parker, Toby Parker, Buster Parker, Herb Dupree, and Rachel Collins.

Shirley was also deeply loved by Joanne Barron and was rarely far from her beloved dog, Tiger. She leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends who were blessed to know and love her.

Shirley had a love for antique collecting and shopping and a sweet, fun-loving personality that made her so easy to love. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and comfortable, and she had a way of making those around her feel like family. She never needed a reason to laugh, enjoy a shopping trip, or simply spend time with the people she loved.

Those who knew Shirley will remember her beautiful heart, her kindness, her laughter, and the warmth of her presence. Her absence will be felt in the little things, whether that be, in the conversations, the shopping trips, the family gatherings, the laughter, and all of the everyday moments that will never quite be the same without her.

Shirley leaves behind a lifetime of love, memories, laughter, and the kind of impact that cannot be measured. The love she gave her family and friends will continue through every generation that follows.

She was deeply loved. She will be deeply missed. And she will never, ever be forgotten.

A service celebrating Shirley’s life will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Leaf Cremation, 4325 Highway 92, Acworth, GA 30102.

Family and friends are invited to gather together to remember Shirley, share stories and memories, and celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and family.
