Stanford Kent Davis (1933-2025). Stan passed away at his residence with his wife by his side on October 13, 2025. He was born March 4, 1933 in Salt Lake City, UT.
Stan served his country during the Korean War. After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Physics, he went on to work on the Sergeant Missile and helped develop the 3rd stage Minute Man Missile as well as working on the Saturn V missile that took the astronauts to the moon. He continued his career in Data Processing until he retired. In his spare time he enjoyed writing and gardening. He was given a Quilt of Valor on November 13, 2021 by the Sunbury Chapter NSDAR.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Jerry Davis and Frances Adams Davis: his sister Janice Patricia Davis Anderton
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Laurie Marie Gras Davis: Their children: Jonathan Matthew Davis, Justin Stanford Davis, grandchildren Christian Matthew Davis and Victor Dean Davis: His children from a previous marriage: Stephen R. Davis, Kevin K. Davis, Kathleen L. Henry, and Kimberly Michelle Schmitt: A brother: Jerry Michael Davis.
We think about you often, we talk about you now. You will never be forgotten. We hold you close within our hearts, and there you will remain to guide us through our lives until we meet again.
Service will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery with Military Honors on December 12, 2025 at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Wreaths Across America.
