Stella Mae Warthen

Stella Mae Warthen 87 of Smyrna, Ga. Blessed the Heaven above on January 20, 2026.

She Blessed this world on July 18, 1938 in Ballground, Ga. Dawson County and was the daughter to the late Ralph and Lela Gazaway.

She also preceding the death of her two sisters Estelle G. Roland and Louise G. Smith. Two sister in laws Joanne W. Neil and Linda. W. Craig and brother-in-law William T. Warthen.

Graduated from Cave Springs School for the Deaf. There she was a basketball star. She was a loved member of Cruselle-Freeman Church for the Deaf in Atlanta.

Words cannot express the impact of lives Stella touched. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She woke up every day with a big beautiful smile and brightened up every room she went into. Our family is more than Great full to be a part of her life and have her continue to watch over us.

Stella leaves behind her husband of 69yrs Robert W. Warthen Sr. Sons Robert W. Warthen Jr. of Smyrna, Ga., Joseph H. Warthen and wife Keely of Dallas, Ga. Besemer R. Warthen and wife Renee of Idaho. Grandchildren Branda, Brittany, Lela, Taylor, Ava, Haylee, and Bryson along with extended grandchildren. Great grandchildren Jamison, Gavin, Caden, Braylen and Savannah along with extended great grandchildren.

Lastly her little dog Coco and grand dog Bud.

A family gathering was held on January 24, 2026 at her home in Smyrna.We want to Thank the Warthen family, the Craig Family and the Neil Family for coming out. Thank you to the fellow church members, long time neighbors and dear friends for coming. Thank you for holding Stella dear to your hearts. Please continue to keep Robert and our family in your prayers.
